With the Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer Beta formally kicking off today on Xbox One at 12pm EST, Microsoft and 343 Industries are using the occasion to announce multiple versions of Halo 5: Guardians will be available to purchase. Two Halo 5: Guardians Limited Editions will offer additional digital and physical content beyond the standard edition at a higher price point.
The Halo 5: Guardians Limited Edition is priced at $99.99 and includes “new digital content to enhance Spartan combat and exclusive items wrapped in a uniquely designed steel book.” Sadly an image of the steelbook and breakout of the digital content specifics was not offered.
The Halo 5: Guardians Limited Collector’s Edition ups the price to $249.99 and includes “everything in the Limited Edition as well as additional content such as a commemorative numbered statue designed by 343 Industries.”
Of course the standard version of Halo 5: Guardians is already available for pre-order at a price point of $59.99. Those who pre-order this version or either of the two Limited Editions will receive an exclusive poster at participating retailers i.e. the big ones like GameStop, Amazon.com, Best Buy, etc.
Pre-order Halo 5: Guardians for $59.99 with free shipping at Amazon.com.
Both Halo 5: Guardians Limited Editions will be available for pre-order starting at some point today. What’s odd is Microsoft is expecting people to shell out either $100 or $250 for these limited editions with the contents mostly sight unseen or unknown. I bet you the Halo 5: Guardians Limited Collector’s Edition sells out relatively quickly as these expensive sets are generally produced in limited quantities.
