Remember the Captain America: Civil War Disney Infinty 3.0 figure with Chris Evans likeness revealed a few weeks back? We knew this figure was the first of at least three that would join the Disney Infinity 3.0 roster next spring alongside the new Marvel Battlegrounds Play Set. Thanks to a great behind-the-scenes article and a separate leaked image, we now know that Cap is one of four additional Marvel heroes getting the plastic figurine treatment.
CNET was recently given inside access at Disney Interactive to learn about the complex process required to develop a Disney Infinity 3.0 figure from concept to finished product. Those who took the time to flip through all the images in the article would have jumped for joy when a completely new character thrown into the mix.
That new character is Vision, and he’s definitely based upon his appearance by Paul Bettany in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War movie. The image reveals a Vision manufacturing test in the foreground with a 3D-printed test in the background.
Ironically the same day Vision was officially confirmed via an endorsed article, a leaked Marvel Disney Infinity 3.0 character lineup image with the additions of Ant-Man, Black Panther and Vision alongside the new Captain America figure popped up online. Ant-Man was teased a couple months ago and likely held back for Marvel Battlegrounds, while Black Panther — like all four of the upcoming new Marvel figures, appears in Captain America: Civil War.
Also note the Black Spider-Man, previously exclusive to the PS Vita version of Disney Infinity 2.0, will be getting a wide release presumably next spring based on his addition to the roster.
The Disney Infinity Play Set model typically packs two figures inside the package. I’d reckon one is Captain America. Of Ant-Man, Black Panther and Vision, who do you think will join Cap in the box?
