You might be hearing some ‘Bare Necessities’ sung in Disney Infinity 3.0 this spring as a retailer leak — that has since been removed — has confirmed a previously unknown figure joining the lineup as well as revealed packaged images for the previously leaked next wave of Marvel figures timed to coincide with the Marvel Battlegrounds Play Set release.
Joining the Disney Infinity 3.0 Marvel roster are Ant-Man, Vision, Black Panther, and Black Suit Spider-Man, the latter of which was previously exclusive to the PS Vita Starter Pack. These four figures, all of which are based on their appearance in Captain America: Civil War, will be accompanied by a four-pack of Marvel Battlegrounds Power Discs.
Notably absent from the new imagery as a standalone figure is the new Captain America figure that has already been revealed. That makes Cap a definite to be packed with the Marvel Battlegrounds Play Set. If there’s a second figure, and there usually is, it is most likely Ant-Man, Vision or Black Panther.
One figure we previously knew nothing about is Baloo from Disney’s animated The Jungle Book. I’m stressing animated here because John Favreau’s live-action The Jungle Book is set for release on April 15, and sneaking Baloo into the Disney Infinity 3.0 lineup is a way of taking advantage of that film’s marketing for the game.
I would expect this likely final wave of Disney Infinity 3.0 product to arrive in stores sometime in March or April. Shortly thereafter we’ll be ready to start talking about Disney Infinity 4.0.
