There is a lot of Marvel going on in Disney Infinity 2.0: Marvel Super Heroes and for some folks, the lack of non-Marvel Disney properties represented in the game is discouraging. Meridia and Maleficent are the only two non-Marvel characters confirmed to be getting the toy figurine treatment, though a few others including Donald Duck, Stitch and Tinkerbell were leaked by Walmart.
Today’s news should add a little spring to the step for those of you who want more classic Disney in your Disney Infinity games. The treat we have to share is a nice high resolution image of 10 upcoming Disney Infinity 2.0 Power Discs that you will be able to purchase later this year. I would speculatively expect at least another round of “Disney Originals” Power Discs, if not more than one, to also be on the way.
Starting from the first row in the image (that can be clicked to enlarge) and working left to right we have two environmental discs from The Lion King and what appears to be Maleficent’s dragon.
The next row has The Muppets disc for the Pigs in Space spaceship and the Main Street Electrical Parade float from Disneyland and Disney World. The final disc on that row is Zeus’ lightning from the animated Hercules film.
Row three includes two items from Darkwing Duck: the Ratcatcher motorcycle with sidecar and his trusty gas gun. There’s no sign of a Darkwing Duck figure yet, but given the Power Discs I expect he’ll be out for either this game or next year’s game.
The final row makes a return trip to Pixar’s Wreck-It Ralph with a pair of new environmental discs from the film’s shooter video game, Hero’s World.
The expected release date for Disney Infinity 2.0 on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4 and Wii U remains September 27, though Disney Interactive has yet to confirm that date or formally announce a date i.e. it could change.
