Kingdom Hearts 3 is getting a new twist with the addition of Disney Animation’s Big Hero 6 into the game’s narrative. The big news was announced today during Disney Interactive’s panel at D23.
Square Enix wasted little time in getting the Kingdom Hearts 3 announcement video online and you can watch it below. In it, Academy Award-winning producer Roy Conli talks about why Big Hero 6 is a good fit for Kingdom Hearts 3 and what you can expect with the addition of San Fransokyo where Sora and a cast of Disney companions will journey to as part of their adventure.
What got the attendees at D23 pumped up was the reveal of concept art for Dark Baymax battling armored Baymax (updated with image above). Unfortunately no actual gameplay footage was revealed, but this is a pretty big announcement nonetheless.
Kingdom Hearts 3 is anticipated to arrive in stores for the 2016 holiday season. No official release date has been given at this time.
