This year is the 35th anniversary of Steel Magnolias making its theatrical debut. To celebrate, Sony Pictures have remastered the classic in 4K with Dolby Vision from the original camera negative, and have set an April 23rd release date for the film’s 4K Ultra HD debut.
Sony have also mixed an all-new Dolby Atmos audio track for Steel Magnolias in 4K which will complete the improved presentation.
A neat inclusion is the unaired 1990 Steel Magnolias TV Pilot in its entirety. This all-new bonus feature, and the legacy ones below, are all on the same 4K disc as the feature as there is no included Blu-ray.
