Sony Pictures Home Entertainment are bringing the cult classic R-rated animated film Heavy Metal to 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray on April 19th. The release will be packaged in a limited edition Steelbook case.
Additionally the Heavy Metal 2000 sequel will be included on Blu-ray. This marks the first time that film has been offered in high definition on home video.

The Heavy Metal 2000 4K presentation will feature Dolby Vision HDR, reviewed and approved by producer Ivan Reitman.
An all-new Dolby Atmos sound mix has been created to offer “a brand-new immersive experience utilizing enhanced sound effects and much more,” which was also approved by Reitman.
