It is still somewhat surreal to think that J.J. Abrams has already begun shooting Star Wars Episode VII and there are potentially the next generation of stormtroppers running around Pinewood Studios in the U.K. right now. With J.J. and Lucasfilm keeping everything under lock and key for the time being, sometimes we need a reminder that cameras are indeed rolling on a daily basis.
There’s a lot of pressure on J.J., his cast and his crew to create a great film, both in keeping with the legacy of the original Star Wars trilogy and making up for the letdown that was the prequel trilogy. To help fire up his troops when cameras began rolling last Friday at Pinewood Studios, Abrams wrote a little inspirational note to his team and Screencrush got a hold of it to share with the world.
Here’s the note, which appears to have been written on script supervisor Dawn Gilliam’s watermarked screenplay for the film, as evidenced by her watermark on the red paper. It is followed by a plain text version of the note as the handwriting can be a little rough at times.

Dearest Cast and Crew, What an honor it is to work beside all of you, on Star Wars Ep VII. I can’t thank you enough, for all work past and future. Let’s take good care of not just ourselves, but of each other. Amazing, but true: the world awaits this film. Let’s give ’em something GREAT. xo JJ
“Great” is certainly what the world expects. No pressure. Star Wars Episode VII opens in theaters everywhere on December 18, 2015.
