American Graffiti Blu-ray Release Date and Details

Director George Lucas and Producer Francis Ford Coppola’s American Graffiti has been cleared for a Blu-ray debut on May 31 in a special edition package.

The 1973 film about cars, rock n’ roll and hanging out at the drive-in got the careers of Ron Howard, Richard Dreyfuss, Harrison Ford, Cindy Williams, Mackenzie Phillips and Suzanne Somers rolling. Ford’s role in American Graffiti helped him score the part of Han Solo in Star Wars a few years later.

American Graffiti on Blu-ray will be offered with 1080p video and 2.0 DTS-HD Master Audio. A mono audio track will also be included but unless you know French it won’t be of much use.

A pair of U-Control bonus features are highlighted by a video commentary with George Lucas. The other is The Music of American Graffiti. Addition bonus features include The Making of American Graffiti, Screen Tests, and the Theatrical Trailer.
