Former Heroes cheerleader Hayden Panettiere and Twilight vampire Nikki Reed are attached to star in Downers Grove, a high school horror thriller revealed at the American Film Market earlier today.
The film, based on a novel by Michael Hornberg and to be directed by Prom Night’s Nelson McCormick, is set at a high school where each year a senior dies a bizarre death and Panettiere’s character is freaking out that she’s atop the list for the next offing. Rebecca De Mornay has also signed on and I’m going to go out on a limb that she’s either a teacher or principal at the school.
Nikki Reed will be shooting The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 and Part 2 over the next several months and is expected to jump right into Downers Grove next spring. Panettiere recently wrapped a small role in Wes Craven’s Scream 4 where she was able to cut her teeth in the horror genre.
