While the eternal wait for Resident Evil 5 seems to drag on (all good things come to those who wait, right?), Capcom has issued a new set of 21 images to help pass the time which you can check out in high resolution below.
Most Resident Evil 5 media to date has centered around Chris and Sheva cooperatively fighting in an African desert town in broad daylight. Screens and video have looked sharp, but we were beginning to wonder “what else” is in store.
This new batch shows off several new combat scenarios that fall right in line with the Resident Evil lineage. Demon dogs? Check. Giant flying bat creatures? Check.
There’s even a first-look at a Humvee versus motorcycle clash that looks like a hell of a lot of fun. And check out the chainsaw and homemade axe wielding dudes at the end.
Resident Evil 5 is on schedule to be released simultaneously on Xbox 360 and PS3 on March 19, 2009. I remain cautiously optimistic the controls will work flawlessly by the game’s release.
