First ‘Deca Sports’ Wii Screenshots

Looking for a suitable successor to Wii Sports or Carnival Games? Well, Hudson Entertainment hopes you lure you into their mini-game net with Deca Sports this summer, available exclusively on Nintendo Wii.

Today we’ve got the first screenshots from the games within a game, appropriately one for each of the 10 sports. Featured are Archery, Badminton, Basketball, Beach Volleyball, Curling, Figure Skating, Kart Racing, Snowboarding, Soccer, and Super Cross.

We’re going to go out on a limb and say the “keepers” will be Curling and Basketball. Frankly, we suspected basketball would be some sort of pop-a-shot game ala Carnival Games, but Hudson surprised us with full-court action.

Each sport in the game uses the Wii Remote in unique yet accessible ways. With a subtle swing of the Wii Remote players can hit and spike the ball in Beach Volleyball, while twists of the wrist produce a wild ride down the slopes in Snowboard Cross. In Figure Skating players need to keep to the music and properly time all of their jumps and spins in order to impress the judges while passing the ball and lining up shots is essential in Soccer.

All ten sports support both single player and multiplayer modes, in addition to a training mode to practice essential skills.
