EA Brings NASCAR to Nintendo Wii: First Screens and Trailer

EA has managed to bring all of their major sports brands to Nintendo Wii thus far save for one: NASCAR. That’s all about to change.

Today EA announced NASCAR will make its debut on Wii in the form of NASCAR Kart Racing. 12 immediately available and 2 mystery unlockable real-life NASCAR drivers will take to the Kart circuit in highly stylized animated versions of themselves. An additional 10 fictional characters will also be available to choose from.

Using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk or the Wii Racing Wheel, players can race on one of 24 different courses, each open to run from start to finish or vice versa. EA is stressing varied terrain wtih deserts, freeways, back roads, canyons, junkyards and areas around real-life tracks at Daytona International Speedway, Talladega Superspeedway, Dover International Speedway and Bristol Motor Speedway.

The campaign mode to become champion unlocks courses, modes and drivers while playing through 13 series. Track sponsorships are available after beating every event at a track that will result in your face being plastered on billboards. Online play via WiiConnect, which would have been ideal for this title to compete with Mario Kart Racing, will not be available.
