Dead Rising: Chop Til You Drop on Wii; First Screens

Capcom Entertainment has announced the next entry in the Dead Rising series won’t be a sequel on Xbox 360 or Playstation 3. Oh no. Instead, the next chance to take on thousands of zombies will be exclusively on Nintendo Wii in Dead Rising: Chop Til You Drop.

Bringing the franchise to Wii is a fairly obvious move given the game’s reliance on hand-to-hand and gunplay combat combined with countless waves of enemies. I’m thinking the “You” in the name refers to you as the player and not you in the game. Arms across the world will certainly go limp.

Chop Til You Drop utilizes the same engine as Resident Evil 4 on Nintendo Wii, the best Capcom has to offer for the console. It looks pretty good for a Wii title based on the first-look screens below.

Aside from using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk for combat and defense, the only other upgrade over the previously released Xbox 360 and PS3 versions is an improved save system promising “more seamless gameplay.”

Dead Rising: Chop Til You Drop will ship this winter exclusively on Nintendo Wii.
