Alan Wake Release Date, Screens and Trailer

It seems like Alan Wake has appeared at as many annual E3 expos as Xbox 360 has. Every year we get a new brief peek into Bright Falls, Washington, but never a firm release date to grasp onto.

This year, Alan Wake’s appearance feels somehow different. Rather than another round of cinematics, developer Remedy offers the first glimpse of actual gameplay in a new trailer. Better yet, Microsoft and Remedy confirm spring 2010 as the target release window. Xbox 360’s enigma will finally be solved in less than a year.

Other nuggets of new information reveal Alan is accompanied by his fiancée who goes missing shortly after arriving in the idyllic Pacific Northwest town where the game begins. Finding her will involve playing through episodic content modeled after television shows like Twin Peaks and The X-Files. This opens the door for premium downloadable content after release.

Have a gander at the new E3 2009 Alan Wake trailer and a handful of screens below.
