Is HBO’s Westworld the heir apparent to Game of Thrones? We’ll get our first taste tonight when the Westworld series premiere episode, ‘The Original,’ makes its long-awaited debut. Find out how to watch Westworld live streaming online, though unfortunately not for free unless you take advantage of an HBO Now trial offer.
Westworld is based on the 1973 Michael Crichton film of the same name. The premise revolves around a futuristic theme park where paying customers can indulge in any fantasy within an artificially created western world inhabited by A.I. citizens.
As Jurassic Park taught us, high concept theme parks are doomed to fail and Westworld is no exception. There’s more going on that meets the eye, especially when the park’s hosts interact with the AI workers, and those workers begin to discover they life and world are not real.
The official short synopsis reads as follows, “A robot malfunction creates havoc and terror for unsuspecting vacationers at a futuristic, adult-themed amusement park.” I’ll defer from posting the long synopsis that pushes too far into spoiler territory.
If you’re an HBO subscriber then jump over to HBOGo.com or access the HBO Go app via your phone, gaming device such as PS4 or Xbox One, or many other app-streaming enabled devices like Roku to watch Westworld live streaming tonight for the series premiere. If you’re a cable or satellite subscriber then call your provider and ask about a three-month free trial you’ll likely receive if you threaten to leave.
Let’s say you don’t have cable or satellite? Then you can pony up $14.99 to buy HBO direct via the HBO Now service here. Keep in mind there’s a one-month free trial available so if you haven’t used it yet then get busy creating an account so you can watch tonight’s Westworld premiere for free as well as the next several episodes.
Yet another free option is to sign up for a free seven-day trial of Sling TV here. The strictly online TV service will set you back $20 a month for the Best of Live TV Package as well another $15 for HBO, but you can cancel after a week and try out all the channels including HBO and tonight’s Westworld premiere free of charge.
