The biggest revelation in last week’s premiere is Anna and Bates finally being cleared of murder and being removed from the police’s microscope. This seemed like the obvious conclusion but it’s good to have it out of the way now and not dragging out into the latter episodes.
A wedding is looming between Carson and Mrs Hughes’ with the venue shaping up to be a bit of an issue. That story will continue in tonight’s episode as Lady Mary has her own ideas of where the marriage should take place and I’d be surprised if she doesn’t get her way.
The hospital battle is just heating up as Violet and Isobel continue to not see eye-to-eye. And then there’s Lady Edith’s secret child, who will be making an appearance this week during an ill-advised trip to Yew Tree Farm.
The official synopsis for Downton Abbey Season 6 Episode 2 reads, “A visit to Yew Tree Farm spells trouble for Edith, while wedding plans get a frosty reception. Mary keeps Anna’s secret and returns a favor, and Violet and Isobel lock horns over the hospital dilemma.”
