Downton Abbey returns to PBS Masterpiece tonight following last week’s big season premiere that once again put up huge numbers for the BBC import. Watch Downton Abbey Season 5 online free live streaming for Episode 2 tonight as the new season moves forward.
In last week’s season premiere, we were introduced to Lady Edith’s daughter, Marigold, who is already toddler age following her birth in Switzerland in the Season 4 finale. Mr. Drewe, the farmhand, has taken Marigold in while Lady Edith tries to stop by as many time as she can to spend time with her daughter — with the catch being that Mr. Drewe has figured out that Lady Edith is the mother.
There are of course new hookups brewing at Downton Abbey, starting with Jimmy and his former employer, Lady Anstruther. They’ve been swapping letters and the good Lady wants a little more than friendship from her former employee. Jimmy’s best friend, Barrow, is advising him against pursing such a relationship, but I suspected he’d do so anyway.
While Lady Mary and Gillingham are making plans to basically have a secretive one-week stint to learn about each other, a fire breaks out. Lady Mary switches gears to worry about her son and the climax commenced. Robert went door-to-door to get everyone to evacuate and found Jimmy and Lady Anstruther in bed with one another. As a result Jimmy was fired.
The official synopsis for Downton Abbey Season 5 Episode 2 reads, “Rose tries to bring a wireless — and Sarah Bunting — into the house. Violet plays cupid, a charming visitor arrives, and Anna helps Mary in the most unexpected of ways.”
