‘The Mandalorian’ Star Wars Celebration Panel: New Images and Full Video

New information and imagery for the Disney+ original series The Mandalorian was revealed at Star Wars Celebration on Sunday.

However, the three-and-a-half minute sizzle reel that first played for Disney investors on Thursday was blacked out for Internet streamers and left exclusive for those in attendance at Celebration.

Unfortunately Jon Favreau forgot to tell the audience not to record the footage. Here you go, until it’s pulled down:

Taking the stage to discuss The Mandalorian at Celebration were Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano and Carl Weathers.

Favreau and Filoni did most of the talking and reiterated some of what we already know as well as dishing out some new details.

We now know that Carano’s character is Cara Dune, a former rebel shock tro0per. Like the title character she’s a bit of a loner.

Weathers plays Greeg Carga, leader of a bounty hunter guild. His character will end up hiring The Mandalorian to help complete a job.

As for The Mandalorian himself, he’s got a lot of Clint Eastwood in him and questionable moral ethics.

Other interesting tidbits offered include the use of the 501st Legion to fill out stormtrooper ranks for a particular sequence, and the use of a practical model to film The Mandalorian’s ship — the Razorcrest — with motion-control like the original trilogy ships were filmed.

Here’s the full The Mandalorian panel — minus the sizzle reel — as well as some new images from the series. Look for all eight episodes to be available when Disney+ launches November 12th.
