‘The Mandalorian’ Release Date Locked With Disney+ Launch

Lucasfilm’s The Mandalorian series was a hot topic at Disney’s Investor presentation on Thursday as a release date on the upcoming Disney+ streaming service was announced.

As expected, all eight episodes of The Mandalorian will be available to watch day-and-date with the Disney+ launch on November 12th, 2019. Monthly pricing was revealed at $6.99 and annual pricing at $69.99.

Co-creator and The Lion King director Jon Favreau took the presentation stage and explained to investors that he and Dave Filoni had a ton of fun constructing a new corner of the Star Wars universe. In keeping with George Lucas’ original vision, they’ve utilized a combination of state-of-the-art visual effects and old-school practical effects to bring The Mandalorian series to life.

Those in attendance were shown a The Mandalorian sizzle reel of behind-the-scenes footage likely to play at Star Wars Celebration this Sunday when Favreau takes the stage again for a panel in front of frenzied fans.

It’s unknown whether The Mandalorian sizzle reel will be publicly released following Sunday’s Star Wars Celebration panel.
