Stranger Things Season 3 casting news is starting to heat up with the next installment expected to begin production sometime next month.
Lucas’ lucky and outwardly opinionated little sister Erica played by Priah Ferguson proved a fan favorite during her limited on-screen time in Season 2. For Season 3, Priah has been promoted to a recurring character as had been hinted by the Duffer Brothers last fall.
A description for Erica’s expanded role reads as follows from Variety:
“Erica returns in the next installment with an army of her own friends. No longer content with sitting on the sidelines, she finds herself on a wild mission to save Hawkins from a dangerous new threat.”
No casting announcements regarding who might be playing Erica’s army of friends has been made yet.
The first confirmed new character has been labeled as an “alternative girl” and will be played by Maya Thurman-Hawke. Potentially named Robin per IMDB, She’s described as someone who works a boring job and gets in over her head when seeking adventure in Hawkins but instead stumbling onto a dark threat to the town.
If Thurman-Hawke’s name sounds familiar, it should. She is the daughter of Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke.
Expect more Stranger Things Season 3 casting announcements to come out over the next month or so.
