Hulu is evidently a fan of the Fox series Sleepy Hollow as they have gobbled up the online streaming rights in an exclusive deal, effective immediately.
Starting yesterday, Hulu began offering Sleepy Hollow online streaming of the complete first season to Hulu Plus subscribers. Traditional Hulu viewers without the premium Plus membership have access to the first three episodes of Season 1 but will be prompted to enroll in Hulu Plus to watch the additional 13 episodes.
Fox will premiere Sleepy Hollow Season 2 on September 22 along with the new Batman prequel series, Gotham. After new episodes premiere on Fox, they will be available to online stream exclusively on Hulu Plus the following morning.
Sleepy Hollow saw a ratings rise in its Season 1 finale to a 2.4 in the 18-49 demographic that advertisers covet and networks use to determine the worth of a show. Sleepy Hollow Season 1 will make its Blu-ray and DVD debut on September 16, just ahead of the Season 2 premiere.
Hulu is a joint venture with multiple owners, including Fox.
