Netflix’s ‘Disenchantment’ First Look Teaser Trailer is Here

Netflix has offered up a first look at Matt Groening’s Disenchantment animated series with character art style is right out of The Simpsons and Futurama playbook.

Where The Simpsons is set in the present and Futurama the future, Disenchantment turns the clock back to the past. There’s a harder edge to the environment with think black outlining, but the characters have that same familiar style we’ve all grown accustomed to.

Disenchantment is the first Groening series premiering on a platform where gore and cursing would be allowed. Netflix is calling the series “for adults,” though there’s no sign of four-letter words in the first Disenchantment teaser trailer below.

Lending their voices to Disenchantment are Abbi Jacobson (Bean), Nat Faxon (Elfo), Eric Andre (Luci), John DiMaggio, Billy West, Maurice LaMarche, Tress MacNeille, David Herman, Matt Berry, Jeny Batten, Rich Fulcher, Noel Fielding, and Lucy Montgomery.

Here’s the official Disenchantment plot description. Look for all 10 episodes to arrive August 17th exclusively on Netflix.

“Viewers will be whisked away to the crumbling medieval kingdom of Dreamland, where they will follow the misadventures of hard-drinking young princess Bean, her feisty elf companion Elfo, and her personal demon Luci. Along the way, the oddball trio will encounter ogres, sprites, harpies, imps, trolls, walruses, and lots of human fools.”
