Darth Vader to Cameo on Star Wars Rebels ABC Rebroadcast

A spark of rebellion sent enough shock waves through the Empire that Darth Vader will be making a cameo appearance on the hit new TV series Star Wars Rebels as a result.

Rumors swirling around the Internet this week hinted that Darth Vader would appear on a rebroadcast of Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion, but those rumors did not imply what today’s announcement makes official. James Earl Jones, the legendary actor who voiced Darth Vader in the original Star Wars trilogy, once again lends his vocal talents to the iconic Sith villain for a new cameo appearance that will be inserted into Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion for its special rebroadcast.

While Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion originally aired on Disney Channel and the ongoing series, including a quickly ordered second season, will air on Disney XD, the rebroadcast will air on ABC in primetime on Sunday, October 26 at 7/6c. Disney is hoping the rebroadcast and Darth Vader draw will lure in even more viewers.

Rumblings of connections between Star Wars Rebels and the J.J. Abrams live-action sequel Star Wars: Episode VII might pick up more steam dependent upon what Darth Vader says during his brief appearance on Rebels. It’s also feasible that Vader will make more than one appearance as James Earl Jones could have recorded numerous lines for multiple episodes during a single recording session.

The second episode of Star Wars Rebels is now available to watch on iTunes for free and will make its TV debut Monday, October 13 at 9/8c on Disney XD.
