We’re going to have to wait a bit longer for the return of AMC’s Better Call Saul. When it does return, a recently introduced new character will up his game and we’ll see his screen time expanded.
Per a report at Deadline, Tony Dalton’s Lalo character has bee upped to a series regular for the upcoming fifth season. But we won’t get to see the first episode of the next season until sometime in 2020 due to scheduling conflicts with the cast.
Lalo was formally introduced in the final few episodes of Better Call Saul Season 4. However, his name was first mentioned by Saul Goodman in Season 2 of Breaking Bad as someone who might have sent thugs i.e. Jesse and Walter after Saul.
The expectation is for Lalo to take on the main antagonist role in Season 5 as the birth of Saul Goodman, Attorney at Law seen in the Season 5 finale begins to mature.
Actress Rhea Seehorn, who plays Kim Wexler on the series, tweeted on April 6th that she’s arrived in Albuquerque, New Mexico to begin work on Season 5.
