Our first official look at FX’s American Horror Story: Freakshow (AHS:FS) is regrettably brief. Yet creator Ryan Murphy has managed to pack a lot of bizarre into only a few juicy seconds of this trailer, which was probably shot solely for promotional purposes and is not a direct scene from the show.
The American Horror Story: Freakshow trailer starts with imagery of a fallen angel on a stage. She’s literally labeled by a sign as the “fallen angel,” and looks incredibly sad as her wings slowly spread open from a cocoon position to either side of her body.
Then behind the angel is glimpsed a man in makeup with a sardonic stare, and as the camera switches point of view to behind the angel, we see he’s a puppet master manipulating the wings with a hinged contraption gruesomely attached to the angel’s back.
According to several YouTubers, the beautifully selected music accompanying the AHS:FS trailer is ‘Le Premier Bonheur Du Jour’ by Pink Martini & The Von Trapps.
American Horror Story: Freakshow, otherwise known as American Horror Story Season 4, stars Jessica Lange, Michael Chiklis, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Evan Peters, Emma Roberts and more, and will premiere on FX in October. This first trailer should air tonight during the series premiere of The Strain on FX.
