Nintendo Getting Theme Park Attractions at Universal Studios

Nintendo and Universal Parks & Resorts have partnered up to finally bring Nintendo characters and games into a theme park environment for the first time.

Who hasn’t wanted the opportunity to play a real-world version of Mario Kart? Or perhaps ride on a Yoshi? How about a theme park attraction based on The Legend of Zelda or a Captain Toad maze for kids to crawl and climb through? These are just a couple of the limitless possibilities that Universal Parks & Resorts will be able to explore with Nintendo over the coming years.

Here’s the most important sentence about this partnership from the official press release, “The immersive experiences will include major attractions at Universal’s theme parks and will feature Nintendo’s most famous characters and games. More details will be announced in the future, as the Nintendo and Universal creative teams work to create specific concepts.”

Unfortunately it will be a few years before the first Nintendo attraction is ready to open. It took three-and-a-half years between the time Universal Parks & Resorts acquired the rights to Harry Potter and when The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Islands of Adventure in Universal Studios Florida.
