Xbox 360 Price Cut All But Confirmed

The months-long rumors of Microsoft following in the path of Sony with a console price cut have proven to be true. Cuts across all Xbox 360 SKUs will take effect on August 12, a mere 2 days before EA’s ‘Madden 08’ invades stores.

News of the cuts comes not from Microsoft, but from an upcoming Circuit City sales flier. The flier lists the following new prices:

  • 120GB Xbox 360 Elite: $480 to $450
  • 120GB Xbox 360 Pro: $400 to $350
  • Xbox 360 Core: $300 to $280

The flier also mentions a free copy of Rockstar’s ‘Table Tennis’ will be bundled with the Pro model, an incentive that could very well appear in some shape or form at other outlets as well.

Now that the cat is out of the bag, Microsoft should be making an official announcement any day.
