X-Men: Days of Future Past director Bryan Singer continues to be the film’s best publicist. His latest inside “scoop” is a hot one off Twitter that welcomes Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage to the cast.
That’s the Peter Dinklage, the one that scored an Emmy for Game of Thrones and steals every scene he’s in. There will be plenty of actors to rob scenes from in X-Men: Days of Future Past with the First Class and older trilogy characters meeting up in the same film.
Though Dinklage’s role in X-Men: Days of Future Past appears to be signed, sealed and delivered, his character remains a complete mystery. Given the actor’s diminutive physical stature it’s not hard to narrow down by looking at the comics. In fact, there are only a couple frontrunners right now unless Singer throws the comic canon aside and disregards height.
One idea is that Dinklage will play Puck, shrunk down in size physically by powers unknown yet still more than a handful to deal with in battle. He appears in the Alpha Flight Marvel comic book series, but it’s unclear if those comics are covered in Fox’s licensing agreement with Fox for the X-Men films.
Officially like to welcome #PeterDinklage from #GameOfThrones to #XMEN #DaysofFuturePast Very very excited!

There’s also Mr. Sinister, a man whose body ages at a snail’s pace over the course of a thousand years while his mind does not. He’s trapped in a child’s body that struggles to handle the intellectual development moving at a much more rapid pace. This role would require tweaking and some heavy prosthetics work to pull off.
For now Peter Dinklage’s role in X-Men: Days of Future Past is nothing more than speculation and shots in the dark. It could be a little while before we find out the truth.
X-Men: Days of Future Past comes out next summer and is currently ramping up to begin production. Already on board are Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen, as well as Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Shawn Ashmore, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, and Hugh Jackman.
