Wii Serves Up ‘Iron Chef America: Supreme Cuisine’

Game publisher Destineer has announced an agreement with United Media to publish Chef America: Supreme Cuisine exclusively on Nintendo Wii and DS sometime later this year.

Black Lantern Studios has developed the game based directly on the Food Network’s cooking face-off challenge series. Players will battle in Kitchen Stadium through “a series fast-paced and intense culinary challenges.” How these challenges make use of the Wii’s controls remains to be seen.

Show host Mark Dacascos has already signed on to lend his likeness to the game. Additional talent will be announced shortly, presumably a number of the actual Iron Chefs such as Bobby Flay that appear on the show.

“If the early buzz surrounding the game is any indication, then fans of the show and Nintendo owners are as excited as we are to be developing Iron Chef America: Supreme Cuisine,.” said Paul Rinde, CEO of Destineer. .”With their innovative control dynamics, Wii and DS are the ideal system for the inaugural Iron Chef video game and believe the ultimate “secret ingredient” to these games will be family fun.”
