Weekend Box Office Actuals: Wall Street Sequel is Money

Studio estimates proved to be on the money for Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps as the final box office numbers for this past weekend affirmed its $19 million three-day haul. The Oliver Stone sequel starring Michael Douglas and Shia LaBeouf held on to topple incumbent box office champ The Town and Warner Bros. and Zack Snyder’s animated Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole.

In our Weekend Box Office Prophet Game, the Prophet missed his prediction on Money Never Sleeps by over $8 million. Thanks to near perfect predictions on Legend of the Guardians, You Again and The Town, the Prophet is enjoying a 3-2 win over the players. Top player finisher julius16 scores a consolation DVD prize while tomorrow’s round of the game will see the huge jackpot of mostly Blu-ray prizes grow even bigger.
