One of my favorite E3 demos took place in the chaotic Ubisoft booth where a neat twist awaited behind the curtain leading to Watch Dogs. That twist involved another hacker going after protagonist Aiden, and then a second curtain flinging open to reveal that the other hacker was a second player and the entire demo took place in a multiplayer setting.
I love when game publishers have faith in their upcoming games and let the gameplay speak for itself. That’s the impression I get with Ubisoft and Watch Dogs, especially after this morning’s delivery of a massive 14-minute continuous gameplay trailer that features the aforementioned hacker-on-hacker multiplayer component.
As with the E3 demo, Aiden is targeted by another hacker and must avoid being detected. Ultimately the only way to escape another hacker is to cleverly take him out, and that’s precisely what Aiden sets out to accomplish.
Watch Dogs will be released on November 19 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4 and Wii U. The PS4 version will have about an hour’s worth of exclusive content, while the Xbox One version won’t be playable until the console releases on November 22 – unless you manage to get a hold of one early.
