Warehouse 13 Season 2 Premiere Preview

Syfy’s offbeat original series Warehouse 13 is about to enjoy its season two premiere of what could be many more seasons to come. You see, Warehouse 13 is Syfy’s most successful series every after only a single season by registering 4.1 million viewers per episode. Those numbers could potentially increase if the first new episode this season, ‘Time Will Tell,’ is any indication of where the creative minds driving the show are headed.

‘Time Will Tell’ picks up literally right where last season’s cliffhanger left off – with Artie (Saul Rubinek) having just been seemingly engulfed in flames. The villain MacPherson (Roger Rees) and his turncoat assistant make a quick getaway while Claudia (Allison Scagliotti) and Mrs. Frederic are also on the move. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out what happened to Artie if you paid even remotely close attention to the previous episode. That’s part of the charm of Warehouse 13; it never takes science fiction and its unintentional absurdity too seriously, even if there’s a notable jump in visual effects quality in ‘Time Will Tell’ compared to season one.

Syfy has been promising that something “else” besides MacPherson escapes the Warehouse and that it will affect Pete (Eddie McClintock), Myka (Joanne Kelly) and the rest of the Warehouse gang throughout season two. Without spoiling what it is, let’s just say that it gets the better of Pete moreso than Myka. Even though its presence is introduced more as an afterthought new direction than a carryover from season one, the possibilities it presents are near limitless.

And no, whatever escapes the Warehouse is not magical cookies. Though there is a great cookie reference in ‘Time Will Tell’ but it’s not what you think. I was prepared to blast the episode if there wasn’t one after Pete’s obsession with the crumbly snacks played out so wonderfully in season one.

Speaking of Claudia, ‘Time Will Tell’ paints a more involved future for her character who also happens to be set to appear in Syfy’s Eureka on that show’s Friday, August 6 episode. Likewise, Neil Grayston of Eureka will stop by Warehouse 13 during its Tuesday, August 3 episode. In other words, the first week of August is crossover week at the Syfy Channel.

Guest stars will be flocking to Warehouse 13 this season with several names no strangers to science fiction. They include Lindsay Wagner (Bionic Woman), Tia Carrere (True Lies), Nolan Gerard Funk (Aliens in America), Jewel Staite and Sean Waher (Firefly), Philip Winchester (Crusoe), Paula Garces (Defying Gravity) and Cody Rhodes of WWE Smackdown.

Warehouse 13 Season 2 premieres on Tuesday, July 6 at 9PM EST with episode 2, ‘Mild Mannered,’ airing on Tuesday, July 13.
