What do Timur Bekmambetov’s Wanted and Pooh’s Heffalump Movie have in common? One was penned by Evan Spiliotopoulos and the other is about to be.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, Evan has been brought on board to write Wanted 2 for Universal based on a story by Chris Morgan which is derived from the Wanted comics by Mark Millar and J.G. Jones.
The original’s director, Timur Bekmambetov, is on board to co-produce Wanted 2 and expected to step behind the camera to lens the sequel as well.
There are a few possibilities for the direction Wanted 2 will follow. James McAvoy could return and continue the bullet-bending adventures of Wesley Gibson. Or, though a bit far-fetched, the story could rewind a few years from the original which would open the door for Fraternity members Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman to return.
