Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment has confirmed multiple retailer listings with today’s announcement that the 1971 adrenaline filled speedster flick Vanishing Point starring Barry Newman is coming to Blu-ray Disc on February 24 with 10 minutes of optional additional footage from the UK version.
Vanishing Point joins two other car chase fueled 70s flicks, The French Connection and French Connection II which are receiving their own HD treatment by Fox on the same date. Like those, the chase segments in Vanishing Point will receive an extra “jolt” from D-BOX Motion Code compatibility (though available via download, not directly on the disc like the French Connection films).
In addition to D-BOX, Vanishing Point will be presented in widescreen 1080p video and 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio.
