Update: Thanks to a tip via Facebook, it would appear the US distribution rights to The Elephant Man and The Deer Hunter are not held by the StudioCanal Collection. As such those titles will not be a part of the Collection stateside.
Lionsgate is offering a sneak peek into their 2010 StudioCanal Collection via a new promotional trailer that popped up on YouTube. In a couple instances, the StudioCanal Blu-ray Collection steps on The Criterion Blu-ray Collection’s toes.
The previously unannounced films in the StudioCanal Collection trailer include The Deer Hunter, Belle de Jour, Peeping Tom, Mulholland Drive, Breathless (A Bout De Souffle), The Go-Between, Pierrot Le Fou, The Third Man (already available via Criterion), and The Graduate.
Other titles revealed via the StudioCanal website include 3 Days of the Condor (already available via Paramount), The Last Year in Marienbad (already available via Criterion), The Lost Honour of Katharina Blum, and Senso.
I’m guessing many of you had at least one of those on your most wanted list.
Look for further additional updates including release dates for these new StudioCanal Collection titles throughout the year. In the meantime, enjoy the trailer below.
