Original article: Marvel and Paramount are offering up a closer look at Captain America: The First Avenger via a pair of new clips that went online today. One brings the transformation and the other pure action.
The first clip is from a scene we all well from the various trailers and television spots that have appeared over the past several months. Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) is given the Super Soldier serum and undergoes the transformation from weakling into powerhouse. It’s nice to finally see this scene play out without the interruption of edits.
In the second clip, Captain America tosses his shield and uses it to whack Hydra soldiers upside the head. We’ve already seen where this scene ends up with Captain America surrounded by four flamethrowers. How he escapes the predicament – if he escapes – will have to wait until the movie is released.
Captain America: The First Avenger starring Chris Evans, Hugo Weaving, Sebastian Stan, Hayley Atwell, Samuel L. Jackson and Toby Jones spins into theaters on July 22. As with Thor, you’ll have the option of viewing it in 3D.
