My choice of words to describe Universal Studios Home Entertainment’s packaging solution for the Back to the Future Trilogy on Blu-ray aren’t exactly what you would call flattering. I believe the verbiage was “a step up from garbage,” not the kind of feedback a studio likes to hear.
Hear it they did as Universal has passed along an instruction sheet that describes how to properly remove the discs from the Back to the Future Trilogy Blu-ray set (this would also apply to The Office: Season Six on Blu-ray). I’m a skeptical creature so I followed the instructions before publishing this. Much to my surprise the top discs came out much easier than how I was removing them before. Now I feel like a dunce for not figuring this out the first time around.
The message to Universal about this style of Blu-ray box set packaging has been heard, not only from our review but others as well. Nothing’s official but I’d reckon the next Universal Blu-ray box set won’t require an instruction sheet to operate.
