Universal Studios Home Entertainment has announced a trio of horror films previously available on HD DVD will be coming to Blu-ray Disc on September 30.
The wave consists of Dawn of the Dead, George A. Romero’s Land of the Dead and The Thing, each available separately or together in a Halloween Blu-ray Starter Pack.
Staying true to form, Universal will present each title in widescreen 1080p video and 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio.
Supplemental features will be identical to the previous HD DVD versions complete with U-Control support. In the case of The Thing, BD-Live access support will be added in place of HD DVD’s web connectivity.
Dawn of the Dead, George A. Romero’s Land of the Dead and The Thing on Blu-ray will each carry an SRP of $29.98 sold individually. The Halloween Starter Pack will carry an SRP of $59.98, a great deal considering one of the three titles is essentially free.
