UK Prometheus Trailer Delivers Different Music and More New Footage

UK Prometheus Trailer Delivers Different Music and More New FootageWhy settle for one new Ridley Scott Prometheus trailer when you can have two? The folks over at Twentieth Century Fox have delivered just that; a pair of new Prometheus trailers, either one of which will vault the film near or at the top of your 2012 must-see movie list.

Joining the U.S. Prometheus trailer is an U.K. Prometheus trailer that features a different score/music, more footage from the first Prometheus teaser trailer, and extended sequences from the Earth scenes that further flesh out the plot. Some of the better money shots are in the U.S. trailer, but the U.K. trailer has a better rhythm to it that builds from exploration to excitement to all hell breaking loose.

There’s still plenty of Charlize Theron, Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender exploring a mysterious planet and discovering something that threatens to destroy our world. However, the Space Jockey close-up seen in the U.S. trailer didn’t make the cut for the U.S. version.

The best way to experience Prometheus right now is to watch the two trailers back-to-back. That’s exactly how I have positioned them below. Watch the U.S version, then the U.K. version. Which Prometheus trailer do you think is better?

Prometheus is directed by Ridley Scott and stars Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba, Logan Marshall-Green and Kate Dickie. It lands in theaters on June 8.
