The Twilight Saga: Eclipse star Taylor Lautner developed a habit leading up to the film’s release of claiming it was the most guy friendly in the girl-aimed series yet. Summit Entertainment felt the same way as they developed a trailer that specifically focused on the action-oriented scenes in the film.
The efforts of Lautner and Summit appear to have paid off. The L.A. Times reports that the Eclipse audience thus far has been comprised of approximately 35 percent males. That’s more than double the 20 percent The Twilight Saga: New Moon and its aggressive wolves attracted but still well under half the total attendance.
Too bad there isn’t a statistic so we can see how many of those guys took one for the team after being dragged to see it by their wives and girlfriends. Unless of course guys really wanted to see it. Speak up in the comments below if you have XY chromosomes and just had to see Eclipse in theaters.
