True Blood Season 5 Episode 50 ‘Authority Always Wins’ Promo: Deep Trouble

True Blood Season 5 Episode 50 Authority Always Wins Promo: Deep TroubleHBO’s True Blood splattered its way back into Sunday evenings last night and brought all the sex, gore, drama, extreme silliness, and seemingly unkillable core characters along for another 12-episode ride.

Bill and Eric crossed the vampire Vampire Authority for their execution of Nan last season and were promptly captured, then escaped, and then re-captured. Somewhere in the middle Eric had sex with his long lost sister (they share the same maker, Godric) Nora (Lucy Griffiths), a powerful vampire who happens to be a chancellor of the Vampire Authority. Now the captured trio are off to meet the Vampire Authority and its formidable leader played by Christopher Meloni.

The other big reveal in the True Blood: Season 5 premiere ‘Turn! Turn! Turn!’ was the sudden and violent awakening of Tara as a vampire in the closing shot. In the preview for the next episode ‘Authority Always Wins,’ vampire Tara isn’t anything like human Tara. She’s a bad-ass who doesn’t seem to want to speak and only wants to kill. I don’t recall Jessica waking up and resembling a Terminator, so maybe the missing part of Tara’s brain is the “nice” part.

Alcide looks to continue stirring up trouble with Marcus’ pack and the dead former pack leader’s mother. Jessica will take aim at newly undead Reverend Newlin, while Sam appears to be a free man after being tortured by the werewolves. Poor Jason Stackhouse can’t seem to stay out of trouble or find much purpose in life.

Despite the numerous ongoing plots, in next week’s True Blood, all eyes will be fixated on vampire Tara and the arrival of Christopher Meloni and his powerful Vampire Authority.

Be on the lookout for our True Blood: Season 5 premiere review in the coming days, and be sure to enter our Vampire Authority-themed True Blood contest that runs through the rest of the month. The 50th episode of True Blood premieres this upcoming Sunday at 9/8c on HBO.
