HBO has added a trio of ladies to the fourth season of True Blood and promoted another as the new season nears the beginning of production.
Janina Gavankar (The L Word, The Gates) is coming on board as a new regular. She will play a sexy shapeshifting public school teacher introduced during a gathering with others like her. Theory: she might cross paths with Sam and/or his brother at the meeting.
Alexandra Brecekenridge (Dirt, Life Unexpected) and Vedette Kim (As the World Turns) have scored recurring roles as a wiccan group member and cage fighter, respectively. The Wiccan group is set to be led by Marnie, a role scooped up a few weeks ago by new regular Fiona Shaw.
Meanwhile vampire spokeswoman Jessica Tuck has been promoted from recurring character since season one to a full-blown series regular. This move should mean vampire politics will play a more integral role in season four.
