One of the first mysteries to come from Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’s production was the sighting of an old-fashioned ice cream truck on the Bethlehem, Pennsylvania Steel Factory set. A leaked call sheet stated the truck would split into two and become “The Twins” but the legitimacy of said sheet was never proven.
The Twins were later identified as Skids and Mudflap based on Chevy’s Beat and Trax concept cars. This disproved the Ice Cream Truck as being The Twins, or did it?
In the first Transformers movie, Bumblebee was a sweet concept Camaro. Before scanning that vehicle he rode around as a rusty old 70s Camaro.
Thanks to Walmart via the Transformers Live Action Movie Blog, the Ice Cream Truck has been positively identified as Skids and Mudflap before they scan the concept modes. The truck splits from door to door with one robot comprising the front and the other the back.
Skids and Mudflap are described by Michael Bay as being juvenile, stupid and argumentative with one another so sharing the same alt mode can’t be good for either. I kind of like the Ice Cream Truck look more than the concept cars.
