Transformers: Dark of the Moon Daytona 500 TV Spot with New Footage

A new TV commercial for Transformers: Dark of the Moon debuted during the Daytona 500 today and provided several seconds of never-before-seen footage.

A little more than half of the footage in the :30 second spot was first seen during the Transformers: Dark of the Moon Super Bowl spot. You get to see Optimus Prime in his hero “kill all Decepticons” moment, Sam (Shia Labeouf) looking around in amazement and Carly (Rosie Huntington-Whiteley) standing still while a car blows up and rolls behind her, amongst others.

New footage is highlighted by Bumblebee on the move and revealing a new cannon that appears on his hood. There’s also a shot of Starscream making one of this patented robot-form landings, Optimus Prime having just fired off a shot (or several), Sam reassuring a scared Carly that everything will be fine, and the Wreckers driving through the streets of Chicago.

There’s a new voiceover that leads off the Transformers: Dark of the Moon Daytona 500 TV spot that says in a year everyone will remember the day and what was happening when “they took over the planet.” The voice sounds a lot like John Turturro as Simmons who is already confirmed to be returning for Michael Bay’s third and final Transformers film.
