Michael Bay used his official website to reveal the release date for Transformers 3 will be July 1, 2011.
Earlier rumors and hints by Bay himself had suggested 2012 was a more feasible time frame for release. The accelerated schedule is no doubt due to the tremendous success of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and striking while the Autobots and Decepticons are still hot.
Bay goes on to state he and writer Ehren Kruger are flying to Rhode Island to talk to Hasbro about new robots. This comes after the pair met with Spielberg to hammer out story ideas.
Because Bay will be Bay, he concludes his update with some advice for Megan Fox, “I promise no alien robots will harm you in any way during the production of this motion picture.” Check out the rest of Bay’s words of wisdom to Megan here.
