Michael Bay’s Transformers 3 has taken over Chicago with videos and images from the shoot spilling onto the Internet over the weekend. Based on what we’re seeing of Prime and some new Nascar-themed rides, it’s hard to call these “robots in disguise” anymore.
Here’s what we know based on all the goodies you can look at below. Optimus Prime has picked up a trailer that has the same markings as his signature Generation 1 trailer, Autobot symbol and all. Does this trailer transform into something? Let’s hope so.
Also spotted during the shoot are Ironhide, Bumblebee, Ratchet, now convertible Sideswipe, the red Ferrari 458 Italia Autobot, possibly the Twins, and a trio of weaponized Nascar racers. The race cars are likely Decepticon Stunticons that each pay homage to a Nascar racer (Red Nascar 42 – Juan Montoya, Blue Nascar 48 – Jimmie Johnson, Green/White Nascar 88 – Dale Earnhardt Jr.)
Transformers 3 shooting in Chicago will be taking place through the month so this is just the beginning of images and videos you can expect.
