Nintendo has announced that the Japanese 3DS hit Tomadachi Life is coming to North America this summer on a release date of June 6.
Tomadachi Life is best described as a spiritual successor of Nintendogs and Animal Crossing, only instead of dogs or a small village’s finite population, players will use and interact their Mii character with other Miis encountered online. The world “Tomadachi” means “friend” in Japanese, so the object of the game is essentially to meet new friends and interact with them in all sorts of activities.
Players will be able to customize not only how their Mii character looks, but their character’s personality traits. In the bustling world of Tomadachi Life is a playground where your math teacher could theoretically fall in love with Christina Aguilera. It all depends on the combatibility between the Mii characters’ personalities.
Nintendo is pushing the mingling of celebrity Miis and regular folk in Tomadachi Life with the signing of Aguilera as an official ambassador for the game. Her Mii character will be availble to download and mingle with at launch.
