Now that they have passed $500 million in worldwide ticket sales and already have a sequel dated, Columbia Pictures’ The Smurfs next aim to conquer home video this upcoming holiday season.
Sony is releasing The Smurfs starring Neil Patrick Harris, Jayma Mays and Hank Azaria, along with the voices of Katy Perry, Alan Cumming, George Lopez, Anton Yelchin and Paul Reubens, in a pair of Blu-ray configurations on Friday, December 2. The first configuration is three discs and includes the film on Blu-ray and DVD, as well as The Smurfs: A Christmas Carol, and all-new mini-movie. This is the special holiday gift set edition.
The second configuration includes the film on Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray 2D and DVD across two discs. This version does not include The Smurfs: A Christmas Carol, so if you want that new mini-movie and the Blu-ray 3D version, you’re out of luck.
Both Blu-ray versions will present the film in 1.78:1 1080p video and 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio. Bonus features include:
- Blue-pers
- Deleted and extended scenes
- Happy Music Montage
- 2 Commentary Tracks
- Going Gargamel
- Smurf Speak: Meet the Cast
- Progression Reels
- The Smurfs: Comic Book to the Big Screen
- The Smurfs Interactive Fantastic Adventure Game
