There’s been much debate over the past few months surrounding when the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 versions of Midway’s ‘Stranglehold’ would be released. Originally they were supposed to arrive simultaneously in August, then the Xbox 360 version slid to the end of the month while the Playstation 3 versions was pushed back, supposedly, until the holidays.
The time has come to toss out rumors and speculation as Midway has formally announced ‘Stranglehold’ has gone gold and been sent to manufacturing. The Xbox 360 version will land on store shelves September 5, followed by the Playstation 3 version on September 25 — much sooner than originally thought.
There you have it. Xbox 360 owners will get their grubby hands on ‘Stranglehold’ in roughly a week, while Playstation 3 owners will settle for an alternative to ‘Halo 3.’
